Yesterday was a very good day when it came to finishing touches on paintings. I finished two of my shoreline scenes and here is a look at one of them. I am now working on the final piece in hopes of taking three paintings to Michigan with me tomorrow. Wish me luck!

I was able to get a good chunk of the shore line finished yesterday as you can see in these progress shots. I still need to finish the trees and lighthouse. I may play with sky a bit more too. Today is another day dedicated to the studio. I'm excited as to how much I can get finished today! I'll keep you posted!

Good morning. Here is the last new under painting I have underway for my shoreline series for Michigan. I have two days for painting planned to try and get these three pieces finished for this coming weekend. Hopefully I'll get some great progress shots along the way.

Here is a look at the final draft under painting for "Breezy Shoreline." I have also painted an under painting for a companion piece I think I will call "Waves Washing In." I have four new paintings started... another from the Michigan shoreline and one from a quiet creek I have recently visited. I am working on these two now. More to share soon! Well, it's about time I got back to the blog isn't it?! I've had three shows in a row and have not been in the studio much. But here is something new I am working on. My next show is in a small town bordering Lake Michigan. Last year I took several pictures of the Lake Michigan shorelines in hopes to paint them someday. Here is a sketch of one I will paint now. An under painting is soon to follow.

Here are the final looks for both the waterfall and the farm scene. Both pieces are on display at the moment in my booth at the Columbus Arts Festival. They look fantastic with the rest of the collection! If you are local, stop by and see. I think the rain is supposed to subside and we should have a lovely day!

I have finally made it back into the studio and here is what I am up to. I am actually working on two pieces simultaneously because the colors I am using are very similar. The tans and browns dry very quickly so I am getting most of my neutral colors laid in first and then I will mix my foliage colors next. The barn is finished but I still have more rock to do. More tomorrow!

Here is a look at the sketch and under painting on "Springtime Solace." This piece is inspired by Upper Falls in Hocking Hills. This painting is 48" tall and 24" wide. We will see the color emerge on this piece soon!

Good Morning!

I know it's been a couple days since I last blogged. The camera I usually use to record my painting is temporarily out of commission until I find the battery charger! I think it is with my keys. Can't wait to find them both!! Anyway, I have been sketching lately. I got my pictures printed from my Hocking Hills trip and I have been sketching from them. Here is a design for a 48"h x 12"w canvas. I have projected the sketch onto the canvas so now I can start on the under painting. I'll keep you posted!
