Good Morning!
Today we are starting to follow one of my bridge scenes. So far we have the structure, the river and the start of some trees. This piece has lots of trees so we'll let the forest building begin!!

Until next time...

Hi.
Here is the final look of "Quiet Field." It has the same secluded almost forgotten feel that it had when I stumbled upon the inspiration field. The clouds were rolling through that day too. Enjoy!
Tomorrow I have a new piece to follow that I am also pretty excited about.
Until next time...

Hello!
We are looking at the progress of my Pennsylvania farm scene. I have a couple trees and a hillside to finish yet.

Hello!

Good news is that I am painting again! Yeah! Here is the progress of a painting that is 16 inches high and 12 inches wide. It was inspired by a farm near where my grandmother lives in Pennsylvania. I had visited in the fall and it was just beautiful. Here are the first stokes of paint.

As I mentioned yesterday, I visited Hocking Hills recently to see the falls surrounded by new spring foliage. When my husband and I go hiking and exploring (what I call "researching"), we both bring a camera. It is interesting the different views that we have in taking the same scene. Sometimes, as in this photo, the photographer ends up getting his/her photo taken while taking photographs! I guess it is also proof that I was there doing what I said I was doing!

Meanwhile, I finally made it into the studio so we should be following a new painting soon.

Good morning! I've been a bit absent from the blogging lately. I have been having difficulties making it to the studio and getting a significant amount done to blog about. However, I should be getting back into it soon and I should have lots to share. I have recently been taking many photos of the spring time blooms though. I also visited Hocking Hills and got many, many photos that will certainly inspire paintings!! Here is one of those inspirational photos. More soon!

Hello!
We are continuing to follow the progress of "Old Family Farm." Here we watch the trees grow around the buildings. At this point I just have to add the trees and shrubs in the foreground. Even for me- who actually knows what to expect because I'm the one making it happen- this was amazing to watch come to life. You can see the finished piece on the Rural Riches page on my website: www.amykayetaylor.com

Hi! Feedback from my Taylor Times introducing Rural Riches, has indicated that "Old Family Farm" is a fan favorite. I was planning on showing the progress of this piece anyway but now I think it will be quite enjoyed by those who liked the finished painting so well. It was a fun one to watch progress. You are now looking at the progress of the buildings. Trees will come soon!

Hello! And here is the final look! I have named this piece "Humble Splendor." To the farmer that owns it or the passer by that sees it all the time, this old barn probably doesn't get a ton of attention. However, it had such great character, I couldn't help but want to paint it... thus the title I gave it. I have a new farm scene I want to share the progress on tomorrow. Stay tuned!!

Until next time...

Good Morning.
We are peaking at a new barn in my Rural Riches series. I've decided that I enjoy painting old barns. There is plenty of texture and character to make for very interesting and exciting painting. I just need to add a field and some trees to complete this scene.

Hello!
Here is a look at the final red barn. I showed how the grass looked before it turned to grass so you may see the great transformation! I am thrilled this got to be my first color of this series! I am now working on another barn but this scene has a new mood in comparison to this piece.

Thought I'd give you another peak at the progress on my red barn painting. We can now see trees and posies. Grass is next but not until after Easter weekend. See you then!

Until next time...

Are you ready for some color? I certainly am! I've started adding color to this barn scene which was one of the first pieces we followed in the under painting stage. Trees are next.
Until next time...
