Hello!
I moved the easel upstairs today to work on a new piece. This painting is 18"x36." I should be able to finish the rest of it this evening and I can show you the finished painting tomorrow.

Until next time...

Hello!

Here is one of my new favorites I have titled "Serene View." I can just imagine driving down a country road and enjoying this scene! It is one of five round bail paintings I finished this week. It is 14" tall and 11" wide. It will debut in Toledo this weekend for the Crosby Arts Festival at the Toledo Botanical Gardens. If you are from this area, be sure to stop by Saturday or Sunday!

Hello!
Here is glimpse of one of the paintings have been working on this week. I was actually able to paint outside again for some of these paintings and that has been really nice. My ponds and rivers have gotten great response and I had sold all but 2 large and 1 small water scene. I decided then to paint a couple new ponds to go with the remaining pieces. This particular scene was inspired by a fall photo I had. I like how tranquil the pond seems. Enjoy!

...and since I'm here... here is another shadow I finished last night of my new round bail series. This one is really neat - it is 8" tall and 48" wide!

Until next time...

Hello all!

I am going to attempt to get to my blog more often this week. I did paint a lot last week but I stayed holed up in the studio and did not come out for computer work much! Today I am going to work on three pieces that are tree and water inspired. Meanwhile, I am quite excited about a new series I am working on with round bails. I took several photos of farms and round bails last fall but did not get the chance to work on a series inspired by them. This weekend, however, I visited my sister who lives around a lot of farm land and I saw a farmer cutting hay. He also had several round bails already made and sitting in another field. This reminded me of the paintings I have been wanting to do for a while now. So, last night I put shadows on 5 round bail inspired paintings. Here is the shadow for one of them. More soon!

Good Evening!

Here is a look at the studio at the moment. I was able to under paint about 6 new medium to large paintings yesterday and today. They are drying and waiting for detail. I will be working on more smaller skies this evening. Also, a painting of mine was featured in the Chagrin Valley News this morning. Here is the link http://www.chagrinvalleytimes.com/

Hello!

It is painting time in the Taylor Studio! Last night I was painting skies and shadows. It looks like I will be doing the same thing today. I have a series of several small pieces going and you are seeing the skies and shadows for 8 of them. They are drying now. I will be seeing a lot of blue the next couple days!!

Good Morning! Since I have been posting photos of my booth at most of my shows this year, I thought I'd post one from this weekend's show. It was at Riverside Park in Chagrin Falls, Ohio and the setting was perfect for my work. I was fortunate to get an end spot and could spread out a little so I could hang paintngs on extra walls! I had waterfalls behind me beyond the row of trees. So nice. I had a great time there. Here is a photo of the booth from the side. I am talking with some ladies about my work. I sold some paintings this weekend so it's off to the studio to create some new pieces. I will, of course, keep you updated on progress!

Good Evening!
Thought I'd get a quick word in before I turn in for the night. I just set up the tent and paintings again for a show this weekend. I am in Chagrin Falls, Ohio for "Art by the Falls" Saturday and Sunday so if this is your neck of the woods, stop by and say hi - maybe even pick out a piece for yourself! Here are a couple of pieces I worked on this week. Each painting is 24" tall and 8" wide. They can stand alone or hang as a couple. (actually, it looks like we are having technical difficulties uploading photos at the moment - I will try again in the morning)

Until next time...

Hello!

Today I was recovering from my weekend! It was nice but it was long! Here is a photo of me in one corner of my booth at the Columbus Arts Festival. I sold a few paintings this weekend so I am back in the studio painting some new scenes. I'll have a sneak peak for you tomorrow!

It looks like I 've been slacking on my blogging! I have been working non-stop to get ready for this weekends festival. I am set up at the Columbus Arts Festival. The booth looks fantastic! If you are local to Columbus, be sure to stop by and see me. My booth number is L116 on Long Street. Also, I made it on the cover of the Columbus Alive! You can see my cover shot at http://columbusalive.com/live/content/features/stories/2009/06/04/ca_ar_cafinfo.html?sid=108 and then click on "Artist Amy Kaye Taylor" and read about me! Finally, here is the final look for the other painting we have been following. It is called "Rolling Hillside" and it is 10" tall X 20" wide. Enjoy!

Hello! The other day I showed you purple shadows of a piece featuring a long line of evergreens. I was deciding whether to paint it in spring colors or fall colors. In the end, as you can see, I decided on fall colors. The oranges and golds contrasted so nicely against the dark green evergreens so I went with that. This piece is 10" tall and 30" wide. Enjoy!

Here is the final shot for the big painting I have been working on the past few days. I like the colors in this piece because they are bold but also have a laid back feel about them. I feel like I'm laying in the meadow staring up at the clouds and the tree line!

I have also finished the other two paintings we have been following in this blue sky series. I will show their final looks in the next couple days.

Until next time...
