Good Morning. My appologies that the blog has been lacking lately. I have been terribily busy outside the studio and quite frankly, I am in a funk, so to speak. The painting has not been coming along to my expectations. I know the artist is her worst critic but things just aren't turning out as envisioned. So, this week I will be off the blog and out of the studio. I think a nice break away and a chance to get re-inspired will do me good! Be back soon though, I promise!!

Good Morning. Here it is... a final look at the painting we have been following. I just have to do a little tweaking here and there. Enjoy!

The final steps for the sky in this piece. Isn't that quite the thunderhead? I remember driving just ahead of this storm. I stopped to take photos when I saw the rainbow. Next up, hills and grasses.
Until next time...

Good Morning! I have a little cloud action to share here. This cloud canvas is 36"tall and 48" wide. It is a big one. It has taken me a couple days to work on it. I caught 7 progress photos. It's amazing even to me to see the progression. Here are the first 4. More soon.

Until next time...

Hello!
This is my last under painting photo. Yesterday I was mixing paint and hope to get some new colors on canvas today. How exciting! I've decided to work on the largest sky in the studio first. What a great way to get inspired for the rest... I hope!!
Until next time...

Good Morning! Here is another look at some under paintings hanging to dry. It feels like the first batch are actually dry and ready for the next layer of paint. In that case, I get to work on skies soon (if not today!). Can't wait.
Until next time...

This week I have been working on some of the under paintings for "Wide Open Spaces." As you can see, I have 5 drying here with a 6th ready to go. The canvas has been textured, stained and I have drawn the outlines for where things should be placed in the painting. This will be shades of purple soon.

Until next time...
