Okay, I'm back. I've been in painting mode for the last couple days and haven't made it to the computer much. I believe we saw the clouds for this painting earlier. Now, here is the finished piece. It is 48" high x 24" wide. It is drying so that hopefully it can go to The Nature Arts Festival with me this weekend and woo my collectors!! It does have amazing wooing powers! I have another painting to share tomorrow.

Until next time...

And here it is... the final look at my golf course commission! The colors are brighter and happier than the camera has picked up (always 100 times better in person than on disk) but we have good sneak peak anyway! Today, since the greens are already mixed, I'm going to work on another piece I have been waiting to add finishing touches on.
Until next time...

Hello!

I am working on the golf course today. I've finished some of the trees in the background and pat of the green. As you can see though... I've got quite a ways left to go. More later...

Until next time...

Good Evening!
Here is one of the skies I have been working on this week - a big, billowing cloud with lots of soft detail. Once this layer is dry I will decide what will go under that cloud go shadow it in. Meanwhile, I have started more clouds.

Good Evening!
Here is a progress shot of the golf course painting we are following. We now have a final look at the sky and an idea of how the trees and hole are set up. It is going to be beautiful, I can tell already! Today I worked on some more skies. I may have a new sky to share tomorrow - if it stops raining long enough to get a nice picture!!

Good Evening! It looks like we are ready to follow a new painting now that Perfect Day is finished. A couple weeks ago I shared a photo of a golf course that I would be painting as a commission. I've finally had a chance to work on it. Here you see the under painting for the sky.

As promised, here is the final look for "Perfect Day." I believe it turned out quite beautiful! Enjoy!

Hello! I thought I'd share one more progress photo before I reveal the finish of what I am now calling "Perfect Day." Here I have most of the grasses and bushes finished on the left and I am deciding how to tie everything together in the lower right corner. I'll share the finished piece tomorrow!
Until next time...

Here is another layer on the painting we are now following. I'm going to have to give it a name soon... I'll think about that!! If you have any suggestions, feel free to say so! Anyway, I got a layer of meadow in with various blooms - I like it but I do not want to over do it.

Also, if you are one of my fans from the Chicago area, stop by Buffalo Grove and see my work at the Buffalo Grove Invitational Fine Art Festival. A photo of me painting at last year's show is featured in the Chicago Tribune!! How Exciting! One of my favorite collectors from this area framed a copy of the clipping for me. You can see the article and me painting (cows behind me!) at http://www.triblocal.com/Buffalo_Grove/Detail_view/view.html?type=photos&action=detail&sub_id=81183 My name is not mentioned - in case you look!

Until next time...

Good Morning!

I was able to get some progress shots on a new piece I am working on. We have seen the pressence of this particular tree in my paintings in the past. I have always changed what accompanies it each time I paint it though. Here is yet one more version of that beautiful evergreen. This painting is 24" x 24." So far I have gotten the tree line in. I need to decide how the forground will play out now.

Good Morning!
Here is the final look for the under painting I showed you recently. In person it is a bit less fuzzy and a bit more detailed and beautiful. I looks really nice with the mossy pond we followed a while back. I find that I like hanging the two paintings together whenever I can. It is 36" tall and 18" wide. Enjoy! Today is one more painting day before I have to get ready for another show, this time in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. I shall have more photos soon.
Until next time...

Hello!

I thought I'd stop by and share some painting progress. I started quite a few smaller paintings and have been working on them lately for my shows. However, I have had a chance to work on a couple larger pieces as well. Here are the clouds and purple shadow layers for one of those paintings. More soon!

Until next time...

Hello!
I wanted to say hi from St. Joseph, Michigan. Above is a gorgeous sunset photo I took of the sun setting over Lake Michigan. It was amazing watching it set! I just finished a two day festival here in St. Joseph and I will be sight seeing along the coast of Lake Michigan on my way to Chicago tomorrow. I will stay with friends and paint during the week. Next weekend I will partake in a show in Buffalo Grove, IL. I will take some progress shots of a painting or two this week. I brought several with me that I am excited about finishing.

Hello!
A quick note. I am still in Boston Mills. This is the last day for the show and then I get to go home!! It has been quite a long weekend - I'm looking forward to my own bed! Above is a picture Chris took of the golf course I am going to paint for a commission soon. It was beautiful. And I'm off!

Until next time...

Greetings from Boston Mills! This was day two for the Boston Mills Artfest. After the show, Chris and I hiked the Buckeye trail to Blue Hen Falls. It was about a mile in and a mile back out. I got some nice photos and little more inspiration for waterfall paintings! I was also able to paint in the booth a bit today. If I remember to bring the camera, I'll get a snap shot of the new piece I finished.
Until next time...

Good Afternoon!
Here is the finished version of the painting I was showing you yesterday. I have titled it "Mossy Pond." I have another painting that I am working on this afternoon that is the same format but larger and includes a path. I may not be able to finish it today but it will be well on it's way. I head out to Hudson, OH tomorrow to set up for the Boston Mills Artfest. I'll try to get photos from there too!
Until next time...
